Freeze Account

There are two methods to freeze your account when necessary:

Method 1: Open WeChat app, select "More Options" -> Safety Center -> Select "Freeze Account" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: In the case of a lost or inaccessible mobile device, you can use a friend's device. While logged in, go to "Me" -> "Settings" -> "Account and Security" -> "Help a Friend Freeze WeChat." Alternatively, you can choose WeChat Safety Center within the app and follow Method 1 for instructions.

Tip: You may be redirected to enter your login information more than once if you are freezing a WeChat account in a non-logged-in state, or using a Weixin account. Please follow the instructions to repeat to complete the process.
