Violent Extremist, Terrorism and Dangerous Individuals, Organisations
WeChat takes a very strict stance against terrorism and violent extremism. We do not allow dangerous individuals or organizations to use the WeChat platform to promote terrorism, violent extremism, crime, or other types of harmful activities. Terrorism refers to the use of political violence and the exploitation of fear aimed at reaching a target audience, with the end goal of bringing behavioral and societal change through coercion, whether that be to further a religious, political or any other ideological cause. Violent extremism is a form of extremism that condones and enacts violence with ideological or deliberate intent, such as religious or political violence. Violent extremist views can manifest in connection with a range of issues, including politics, religion and gender relations. Extremism is a term used to characterize a variety of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that often are on the extreme end of the political, religious, or ideological spectrum within society.
